As businesses across the country implement measures to safeguard their staff, customers and the general public, we want to assure you that we’re no different. Our team at Charlesland Golf Club has implemented a robust action plan to provide a safe environment for our members, guests, and visitors to continue to enjoy playing the course.

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan has been clear in his advice that physical exercise is good for our mental well-being. We continue to monitor the situation and evolve our planning and implementation of hygiene measures to increase members’ and guests’ safety whilst at the club.

Before you play
  • All golf, where possible should be booked on-line in advance of play
  • Player registration before entering the course is mandatory for all members, guests, and casual visitors.
  • Guests and visitors will be asked to provide their name, mobile, and email to enable contact tracing in the event of a confirmed case from a player or staff member
  • The Club will now only accept card payments to avoid cash handling

In the Clubhouse
  • The bar and restaurant have been closed with immediate effect to ensure social distancing for members, guests, and staff
  • Signage is visible at all wash areas to advise on hygiene best practice
  • Sanitisers available in the Pro Shop – please take a portion and return the bottle for the benefit of others
  • Staff continue to use medical gloves and are sanitising regularly
  • Locker rooms remain closed, except for the toilet facilities
  • All competition scorecards to be entered using pens to avoid contact with the touchscreens

On the course
  • All shotgun start events will now be timesheet events to avoid crowding
  • Ball washers and towels have been removed
  • Please putt with the flag in at all times throughout your game
  • Please observe a placed lie local rule in all bunkers to avoid the use of rakes

Please continue to exercise social distancing, handwashing and minimum contact throughout the Club, avoiding handshakes and high fives.

We appreciate the inconvenience these additional steps may have to your experience at Charlesland Golf Club. Though your own and fellow members’ and guests’ safety whilst at the club is our priority.

“Our message does not mean stay at home and hide. It can be appropriate for people to take walks and other exercise. Physical exercise is also important mentally. Reducing discretionary social activities does not mean necessarily hiding in the home. “
Dr Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer

We hope that these comprehensive steps allow you to keep enjoying this great game, getting outside, exercising and escaping (social) media during this unprecedented period. Thank you for your continued support in assisting the club to remain open for golf during this time.

Best wishes,
Jim Kearney | Operations Manager
