Local Rules

CHARLESLAND GOLF CLUB – LOCAL RULES

1. Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)
            a) Beyond any fence or boundary of the Course
            b) Beyond any line of white stakes bounding the Course
            c) On or over the Clubhouse enclosure which incorporates the tarmac and gravelled areas surrounding the Clubhouse
            d) On or over the artificially surfaced pathway leading to the 1st tee
 NOTE Crossing the boundaries of the Course for any reason is strictly forbidden.

2. Penalty Areas (Rule 17)
            a) Yellow Penalty Areas are defined by Yellow Stakes
            b) Red Penalty Areas are defined by Red Stakes

3. Movable Obstructions (Rule 15.2)
            a) Stakes and Ropes protecting areas from damage

4.  Abnormal Course Conditions (Rule 16.1)
            a) Immovable Obstructions - Pump house on edge of lake, all staked trees, signs, manhole covers, sprinkler heads, course furniture, artificially surfaced paths and artificial tee mats.
            b)  Animal Dung - At the player’s option, dung from dogs or swans, may be treated either as:
                i. A loose impediment that may be removed under Rule 15.1, or
                ii. GUR from which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1. Interference by this GUR with a player’s stance is deemed to be, of itself, interference under this Rule.

5. Practice areas within the General Area (Rule 5.2)
            a) The Par 3 Academy Course, the putting green in front of the Shop and adjacent grassed areas are recognised practice areas within the bounds of the Course and may be used by players for practice on any day of competition
